The purpose of the Fragile Infant Feeding Institute is to assist professionals in understanding the story of the infant, both in the hospital and beyond. Everyone involved in the care of the infant and family should understand the factors influencing successful, enjoyable feedings, across time and across disciplines. The PTB TWG-ICS meets periodically to explore potential opportunities to address gaps in critical knowledge that will help to overcome bottlenecks to implementation, significantly increase coverage and quality of PTB and LBW evidence-based interventions in order to increase newborn survival, and favorably impact other related reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health outcomes.
