PTB and LBW Global Technical Working Group on Implementation Challenges and Solutions (PTB TWG-ICS)

September 26 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

unnamed

The PTB TWG-ICS meets periodically to explore potential opportunities to address gaps in critical knowledge that will help to overcome bottlenecks to implementation, significantly increase coverage and quality of PTB and LBW evidence-based interventions in order to increase newborn survival, and favorably impact other related reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health outcomes. The PTB TWG-ICS was established in 2015. The first meeting focused on gestational age estimation, while the second meeting focused on prevention of preterm birth with a focus on Lifestyle, Infections, Nutrition, and Contraception (LINC) factors, maternal complications, and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia prevention and management. The third meeting focused on Do No Harm: the safe and effective care of small/sick newborns. Building on the rich discussion around Do No Harm at the previous meeting of the PTB TWG-ICS, the fourth meeting will focus on respectful newborn care.

If interested in participating in this meeting, please respond with your method of participation (in-person or via web-conference) to Devan Deignan (ddeignan{at}pciglobal.org). A formal invitation with the preliminary agenda and additional details will be shared in the coming weeks.
